Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) Tuesday selected 62 Chinese industrial bases to receive special government support of resources, aiming to boost the industry upgrade in China, the Shanghai Securities News reports.
These industrial bases are selected among main economic contributors from 30 provinces and cities nationwide including Beijing Zhongguancun Science and Technology Garden, which is known as China's Silicon Valley. They represent industries of raw material, equipment manufacturing, consumer goods, information technology and production service industry.
Li Yizhong, the minister of industry and information technology, says that supporting the key industrial bases is a crucial step to improving the quality of China's industries and realizing the structural upgrade of the sector.
He says that the industrial bases will enjoy preferential policies and guidance from the MIIT in planning and launching important projects, technology upgrades and financing.
Aside from promoting the upgrade of the traditional industries, Li also required the industrial bases to focus on the emerging industries such as internet, new energy, aerospace, aviation and biotechnology.
Experts say that the industrial base can promote the cooperation and mutual study between the companies located in the same base and therefore create the community generating values that cannot be achieved by a single enterprise.
